At Haras Larissa Residence in Monte Mor, Brazil, a clay-tile roof bends around a lawn and lap pool. The L-shaped house places shared rooms and four suites in separate wings around a courtyard.

At a corner beside a cul-de-sac and riding path, garage and main entry meet. The kitchen and laundry face the street; arrival leads into the social wing.

From above, the two wings frame a protected garden. The plan and aerial views show the courtyard between the house and surrounding open fields.

A veranda extends the living and dining rooms toward this courtyard. Broad glazing opens the shared spaces to the terrace, while the roof overhang shelters its edge.

Exposed glued-laminated timber beams and rafters mark the living room; a roof opening brings daylight into its double-height volume. Brick and concrete distinguish uses under one continuous cover.

The private wing looks outward too: bedroom windows face open fields, while sitting areas frame rural views. The courtyard is mainly the focus of the shared rooms.

Along the exterior, glazing alternates with quieter wall surfaces and planted edges. Deep eaves shade the perimeter and shelter the transition from inside to garden.

Dining and living continue onto the veranda: tables and chairs sit beneath the timber roof, oriented toward the lawn and pool rather than the street.

Stepping stones cross the courtyard lawn between planted edges and veranda. The long pool runs alongside this outdoor room, visible from the social wing.

The veranda roof extends beyond the rooms, covering outdoor seating; the stepping-stone path carries the route into the garden.

Roof plan and sections show one broad cover joining the wings and sheltering the veranda, with the rooms held close to the ground.

Here, the courtyard functions as both outdoor room and interval between shared and private wings.
